THE OTHER/ME

The use of black and white in his portraits which increases the dramatic effect is what makes Selahattin Yıldırım especially successful. Continuing the constant inquiry, the subject of his artistic works are the social disputes which he expresses through the usage of forms and color. This at the same time is an expression of an act of defensiveness against the social marginalization. Yıldırım on his canvases successfully depicts the damaged bodies, scared faces, that is, ‘The Other - Me’.
