ORGANIZATION

Each year the residency program is held in two terms. Each term is carried out with a maximum of 5 young artists and one curator from the Eastern Mediterranean and Middle East regions for a period of 6 weeks. At the end of this period an exhibition is held at Casa dell'Arte Gallery in Torba.

We invite each year one curator for each term to develop the residency program and the resulting exhibition around a curatorial perspective. This curatorial position can be held by a young curator or an artist acting as a curator from a project-based perspective. Regular interventions by academics and master artists are organized around the main concept of the residency program.

ACCOMODATION: Participating artists and the curator are provided accomodation in a fully furnished duplex villa located in Greenlife at 1 km distance from Casa dell'Arte Hotel of Arts and Leisure, inside the Torba Valley. Greenlife offers a lush open space overlooking the valley, filled with olive and pine trees in a green and secluded environment ideal for working.

WORKSPACE : One of the larger villas inside Greenlife is designed as a shared working space with 1 large studio, 3 smaller studios and a large terrace suitable for working in open air. Since this is a villa transformed into studio, it includes 2 bathrooms and a kitchen.

Two open air studios are provided in addition inside Greenlife, suitable for working with wood and ceramics.
Resident artists are also welcome to use the Office space inside Greenlife for internet Access and desk work.

MATERIALS & PRODUCTION COSTS : Casa dell'Arte provides a number of basic materials such as oil and acrylic paints, best quality brushes and canvases, ceramics tools and woodwork tools. In addition, we provide support for materials and production costs specific to each project within the limits of available budget.

MEALS: All meals are provided by Casa dell'Arte in the form of a fixed daily menu. Resident artists can also do their own shopping and use the common kitchen for cooking.

TRANSPORT : Casa dell'Arte does not provide for travel costs to/from Bodrum, Turkey. Public transport inside Bodrum, from/to Torba is covered by a network of minibuses that circulate every 20 minutes. For transporting specific materials or any other special transportation needs related to the artistic project, a vehicle will be at your service.

SHIPPING : The transportation of artworks from Bodrum to Istanbul is handled by Casa dell'Arte each year in October. Casa dell'Arte does not provide for international shipping of artworks.
