He was born in Trabzon in 1950. He graduated from Marmara University Fine Arts Faculty Textile Department as the top student in 1975. The pioneer of the hyperrealism movement in Turkey, the artist works on real figures from daily life.
He particularly reflects the city and the street themes to his paintings and brings together the art of photography and the art of painting on his generally grand size canvases. The Artist who participated in quite many exhibitions and fairs like Tekel 10th Painting Competition Exhibition (2001), D.Y.O. 29th Painting Competition Exhibition (1999), 11th Tüyap Art Fair (2001), 2nd, 3rd and 4th Art Istanbul Fair, also has many awards including State Painting Commandership 4th Painting Competition First Place Award, Adana Cement 9th Painting Competition Honorable Mention Award.
In 2007, Mustafa Sekban participated the Artist 2007 Fair with Casa Dell'Arte and in 2008, he joined the group exhibitions of Casa Dell'Arte both Istanbul and Bodrum. The Artist still lives and works in Istanbul.
