DAVID OLIVEIRA

David Oliveira's wire sculptures offer a challenge on the perception of the sculptural object. Purely visual, these sculptures play with the weak capacity of the brain to interpret empty spaces, compelling the viewer to associate images stored in advance in order to fill the gaps.

David Oliveira (1980, Lisbon) is currently taking a Master of Artistic Anatomy at the College of Fine Arts in Lisbon, won the 1st prize for sculpture 2009 Young Artists of Aveiro and the premium revelation D. Fernando in 2010. He has participated in national and international art fairs Santander 2010,Swab 2010 and JustMad 2011. He is currently developing artistic projects in Portugal, Spain, United Kingdom and Turkey.
